The University of Tlemcen Commemorates the 63rd Anniversary of Independence: Honoring the Martyrs and the nation's future outlook

On Saturday, July 5, 2025, the University of Tlemcen solemnly celebrated the 63rd anniversary of Independence and Youth Day in a spirit of patriotism and reflection. The event brought together the university’s rector, Prof. Mourad Meghachou, members of the academic community, and social partners.
 
The ceremonies began with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs, followed by the raising of the national flag and the national anthem, sung with deep reverence. The program continued at the “19 May” Hall on the Imama campus, where the rector delivered a speech highlighting the symbolic significance of this historic date and the university’s role as a hub of knowledge, memory, and civic commitment.
 
The scientific program featured two lectures recounting the Algerian people’s struggle for freedom and emphasizing the role of youth in the country’s development. The ceremony concluded with the awarding of distinctions to outstanding students, reflecting the university’s commitment to honoring the memory of the martyrs through academic excellence.
